Oops - sorry but no that banner image is not me, however it is a wonderful picture which speaks to power, emotion and achievement. Sometimes you have to go out on a limb, out of your way, to get it right.

Being an x-photographer as I am I apprectiate great photography, both black & white and color. Sometimes a scene will work in both, sometimes better in black and white only. Color for me because I find numerous color combinations that can work depending on the scene, situation and mood. I love it all. There are a million combinations that will work based upon the circumstances and the scene. Black and white commonly brings out drama and mood and surrealism.

I did say x-photographer. After earning a BA in Photography from Ohio State I did some traveling through Europe and Asia before more/less settling in. People change and along the way I lucked into a temp job at Sun Microsystems in California where I discovered that I really enjoyed doing technical support, helping people with problems and especially working with the presentation of data. This lead to that and that lead into learning PHP/MySQL web development and web design. That's enough, the Reader's Digest version.

My Portfolio

Here are some of my favorite images from my days as a photographer. The period ranges from about 1980 through 1988. These were all done with film cameras, a Bronica 2 1/4 x 2 3/4 medium format and a 4x5" Wista view camera. Those were most certainly the days.
